Amkette launches ‘SmartBoard’ keyboard for iPad and Android tablets in India

Indian peripheral maker Amkette has launched the ‘SmartBoard’ keyboard in India for Rs 2,695. The keyboard supports a myriad of platforms that include the iPad, Android tablets, Windows and OS X.
The keyboard uses Bluetooth technology to pair up with the device in question and features a number of one-click shortcut keys including a dedicated search key for iOS and Android devices, and music controls.
This keyboard will also be compatible with Amekette’s own EVO TV media player that runs on Android. Amekette says that it has built a multi-level power saver mode for the keyboard that ensures long battery life.
Salient features:

• Long Battery Life – SmartBoard automatically manages its power by going into multilevel power saving mode. In addition, the On/Off switch at the back provides a total battery saving solution.
• Bluetooth 2.0 – Pairing, auto-reconnect, portability and multi-platform support through Bluetooth 2.0
• Silicon Protective Lining – The soft silicon has been billed as an design element, and Amkette says it also helps prevent accidental damage
• Carry Case – A Carrying Case is included for safe storage and better portability of the keyboard.
• Multipurpose Tablet Stand – A simple tablet stand is provided that should ensure better comfort while typing and lends better support in different orientations of the tablet in question given the cross platform support.
