Micromax A44 Superfone Punk launched in India for Rs 4,500

Micromax has launched a tsunami of budget Android smartphones in the country in the past few months. Today the Indian handset vendor has launched the A44 Superfone Punk, which appears to be music flavored budget Android smartphone priced at Rs 4,500.
Like most Android phones in the market, it is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but the cool bit here is that even in a frugal package Micromax claims to provide a set of headphones and at first glance they don’t look like your run of the mill iPod headphones. Of course, it remains to be seen how these headphones perform, considering the low price.
Coming back to the tech specs, the A44 Superfone Punk, is pretty much a standard affair. The device features a 3.1-inch display with resolution of 240×320 pixels, a 800 MHz single-core processor, 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, a 2-megapixel camera, dual-SIM capability, a 1,200 mAh battery, 140 MB of internal memory and support for a microSD card that supports up to 32GB of external memory.
