Google Maps for Android gives schedules for Delhi Metro, Chennai MRTS, Bangalore MTC and Kolkata Metro

Google Maps now has schedules for over 1 million public transit stops covering nearly 500 cities in the world. Some of these cities include Tokyo, New York, Sydney and London. For India, Google Maps now more importantly has schedules for Delhi Metro Rail, Chennai MRTS, Bangalore MTC and Kolkata Metro. All these schedules are being pushed to the Google Maps app for Android via an update today.
The update to the Google Maps app in Android also makes the transit information more useful and users can choose to get information regarding a particular form of transit like subways, bus, tram or railways. This makes the information less cluttered. Google has also updated the layout of the stations page and one can open it just by tapping on the name of the station.
In addition to this, the new maps app also features region highlighting. This comes into play when searches for a city or postal code, the borders of that region are highlighted. Under My Places Google has added new tabs, which helps the user access all information from a single place. And if one enables location history then one will be able to browse the places one has visited on a daily basis. All this information is updated in the Location history dashboard.
