The update to Ice Cream Sandwich for the 2011 Xperia range of smartphones was notorious for bringing along a massive performance blip, and it looks like this is a case where Sony is troubleshooting the issue by re-releasing the update. To sweeten the deal, it is also saying that there will be more goodies other than the bug fixes and performance tweaks. Hopefully, this will satisfy the users of the 2011 Xperia phones who upgraded to ICS only to the detriment of their user experience.
Other than these devices, even the Xperia Sola and the Xperia Go are scheduled for an update to Android 4.0 ICS. Amid all this ICS talk, Sony is yet to outline a timeline for an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
