Samsung ES9000 75-inch Smart TV launched for Rs 7.5 lakhs, brings Angry Birds to smart TVs

Samsung has launched the ES9000 75-inch Smart TV in India for Rs 7,50,000. The monstrous 75-inch screen is based on Samsung’s proprietary Smart TV platform, which features a miniscule 7.9mm curved bezel and features a camera, which is barely visible.

Some of the salient features of the new ES9000 Smart TV include Smart Interaction – A natural gesture based interaction system, Smart Content – An ecosystem that features Samsung’s curated selection of content for the TV, and Smart Evolution. Samsung has added a gamut of new features to the ES9000 HDTV, which includes Sound Share that allows the user to wirelessly connect the TV audio to the Series 6 and Series 7 wireless dock system.
Samsung claims to have further refined the Smart TV experience with a better selection of content and an improved UI. All this works via a dual-core processor.
As far as picture quality is concerned Samsung’s Micro Dimming Ultimate and precision black technology help improve the picture quality. Everything seems to have been improved including contrast ratios, black levels and brightness. In fact Samsung says that the black levels are 30 percent sharper than the ES8000 and there is 60 percent improvement in brightness levels from that of the ES8000.
Notably, Samsung has released an Angry Birds app for its Smart TVs that will support the Smart Interaction gesture UI. This app will be available from the Samsung App store. It will also be available for the ES7500, ES8000 LED, ES9000 LED TVs and E8000 Plasma TVs.
Additionally, Samsung also has a Diwali offer for Indians. Any purchase of a 46-inch or larger LED or Plasma TV from the Series 7 and Series 8 lines will get a user a Galaxy Tab 7 and an 11 by 1 finance scheme.
