Saavn is also working on J2ME, Symbian, BlackBerry and Windows Phone versions of its app. At the moment, we believe Dhingana, which was recently launched and offers similar services, to be Saavn’s biggest competitor in coming months. The biggest challenge now would be to offer offline music that is downloaded and stored locally to enable users access when they are not connected to the Internet.
The company also revealed some interesting numbers:
- 100,000 new users and over half-a-million new, customized radio stations created by iPhone and iPad users in the first month
- iOS users are streaming are over 18 million songs per month
- Average mobile users create playlists, curate custom radio stations for over 3 hours each month
