Updated YouTube with offline viewing support now available on Google Play store

If you are using an Android ICS smartphone, chances are that you are currently updating most of the stock Android apps right now. Besides Google Maps, which has received offline map support, Google has also updated the YouTube app for devices running Android 3.2 Honeycomb and upwards. Just like Google Maps, even the new YouTube app does not seem to support Gingerbread devices, if Google Play is to be believed. Read on to find out what’s new.
The new YouTube app has a completely new layout with more emphasis on YouTube Channels. It also gets a very Facebook-like navigation column on the left that also aims to bring more content discovery by showing video categories. A new feature when enabled downloads and stores videos from the list of subscribed channels as well as videos marked to be watched later whenever the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network. These videos can then be viewed even when the phone is in offline mode.
