RIM on target to launch BB 10 smartphones in Q1 of 2013: Report

Last quarter RIM copped a lot of flak for delaying the launch of BB 10 smartphones from Q4 of 2012 to Q1 2013. Well in an interview with AllThingsD, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins has revealed that RIM is on track for a grand BlackBerry 10 launch. He has said that the software is complete and BlackBerry is fine tuning the software, for the extra bit of polish. He even revealed that even the hardware is ready.
Heins said that product line will be divided into two – All Touch devices and QWERTY smartphones, and these devices will be further segregated across three price brackets – low-end, midrange and high-end.
Heins reiterated the fact that RIM could have launched the devices in Q4 but they would have lacked polish. He believed that the engineers behind the OS had underestimated the amount of work needed for the final product.
